Coherent Economics is pleased to announce the addition of several new professionals and the opening of an Austin, Texas office.

Jeff is a prolific expert with decades of consulting experience on finance, antitrust, intellectual property, and commercial damages matters. He has previously held leadership positions in other consulting firms, including serving as President of Finance Scholars Group, and he is a member of the finance faculty at the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business where he teaches a core valuation and corporate finance course to undergraduate and graduate students. Prateek, a certified public accountant, has nearly 20 years of consulting experience supporting renowned academic experts in a variety of disciplines, and has himself provided expert testimony on valuation and commercial damages matters.
Concurrent with the opening of the Austin office, Coherent is also announcing an important leadership change. Dr. Alan Frankel, who founded Coherent Economics and led the firm from 2008 to 2021, is stepping down from his role as President to focus full time on his expert consulting work. Laurel Van Allen, who has led the firm’s finance practice since joining in 2014, will succeed Alan as Coherent’s new President.
