Coherent is seeking Research Analysts to join our team with a June 2025 start.

Responsibilities

Research Analysts are expected to learn the basics of data analysis, detailed research, preparing professional-quality work product, and the economic consulting industry. Our work is engagement-specific, and responsibilities vary from project to project. You will be expected to:

  • Perform detailed research on securities, firms, industries, and markets
  • Analyze data using Microsoft Excel, Stata, R, Python, and other programs
  • Review, summarize, and analyze confidential discovery materials
  • Create professional quality visualizations, and other summary materials
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations
  • Organize and maintain data, files, and backup materials
  • Audit work product using best practices
  • Participate in recruiting, marketing, and other non-consulting activities
  • Adhere to the Coherent Economics Core and Workplace Values

You may need to balance multiple projects and responsibilities at a time. Our work can be intense, particularly around deadlines, and will require occasional evening or weekend work.

Qualifications

We seek individuals with strong analytical backgrounds. Equally important, we seek individuals who are resourceful, intellectually curious self-starters who have strong emotional intelligence and grit. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiar with Stata, R, Python, or a similar data analysis program
  • Capable of working efficiently alone or collaboratively in teams
  • Exceptionally detail and process-oriented work style
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
