Dr. Ilia Kapelevich is an applied microeconomist with expertise in econometric methods, labor economics, and industrial organization. He applies these tools to address complex economic problems in both consulting and research settings. His professional interests include antitrust litigation, intellectual property, and securities and financial markets.
Dr. Kapelevich earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Florida, where his research focused on education, labor economics, and political economy with an emphasis on causal inference. Concurrent with his Ph.D. studies, he served as an Economist at RedPeak Economics Consulting, a boutique firm specializing in antitrust litigation. His casework included agricultural and financial commodities, as well as e-cigarettes. He also designed and taught an upper-level course in the Economics of Education, earning strong student evaluations and a departmental teaching award.
Dr. Kapelevich has collaborated on interdisciplinary projects in multiple countries, strengthening his ability to work effectively in team settings. He also holds an M.Sc. in Quantitative Economics from Yeshiva University and a B.A. in Finance from Lauder Business School in Vienna, Austria.
